hopebaymama asked: No matter how many burps she has, my daughter is still spitting up a lot after some feeds. Pediatrician diagnosed acid reflux and said to keep her upright. It seems to bother her, especially the really big ones. Any tips appreciated.
sorry, I meant to mention she is stricty breastfed.

Jesse asked: I have had chest pain for about 4 months. Hand several tests and the Dr. said its not my heart so he sent me to a Gastroenterologist and after a only a few minutes with him he wanted to do a Endoscopy. He said you might have Barrett’s Esophagus we need to look in there. He says I have GERD but by my research I do not have all the symptoms of gerd. Well I have done a lot of research on the net and from what I have read is you have to have my symptoms for YEARS to have that. I personally think the Dr just wants to do a very expensive (end proffitable) procedure for no reason. He didn’t even offer me any PPI’s (Aciphex,Nexium, etc.) I think he’s full of crap. Should I have this?
I just don’t trust Dr’s. I think that most prescribe expensive procedures for the money. Ever since I went to the Dr for this problem it seams like all they are doing is guessing. Isn’t that they do to school for? To know whats wrong with you instead of guessing and dragging you in the office for 2 months with test’s and procedures and drugs that haven’t helped you at all?
Honestly! I am more afraid of the sedation than anything!
5/8/09. Hand my Endoscopy today. I can not believe I was so upset and afraid of this procedure! I was there a little over an hour. When I got there I was taken back into the exam room. An IV was given and then they put me on oxygen via a nose piece and sprayed the back of my throat with something to numb it (it wasn’t bad at all). When the Dr came in he talked to me for about a minute and then they put the mouth piece in and the next thing I heard was it’s time to wake up! No sore throat! No grogginess! Nothing! It was over and I survived it. Everything was on except my deodenum was lumpy instead of smooth and the Dr took a biopsy. He said not to worry he has seen that a lot but call next week for results. He told me not to stress so much and that was probably the cause of my problems. People, It’s a brease! Don’t stress over this very easy procedure. You will be fine.
